The SCARLET JANE FILES has been completed

And what that means for THE SUPERNATURAL SOUTH

Hello everyone.

I am incredibly excited to announce that, as of today, The Scarlet Jane Files are now complete with the publication of book 6, Golem Ground.

After a decade of writing and conceptualizing, then rewriting, I am proud to say that Scarlet's origin story has come to an end. What begins as a story of a 17-year-old girl thrust into an unpredictable circumstance ultimately ends where it should, and bridges the Supernatural South universe from the end of Scarlet's story in The Scarlet Jane Files to the beginning of Jason's in The Elements of Ice.

However, you might now be wondering: what is going to happen with Phase 4 of the Supernatural South Universe?

As you all probably already know, I was displaced by flooding that occurred in Texas this past March, and returned to my home state of Idaho in the process. Several things have come up during that time, including a decision to enroll in graduate school. Because of this, the fourth stage of the Supernatural South, which is going to be called The Fortuned Ones, came to a halt -

Mainly because I experienced a great deal of trauma from the flooding, and because of that, I had a hard time finishing Scarlet's last two stories. It was hard to go back to that world, knowing that I was no longer in Texas, and no longer in the place I had likely planned on staying for a much longer term. Because of this, I had been afraid to go back to that world.

Fortunately for me, The Fortuned Ones will take place over five different locations, and with five different characters, which means that I will eventually be able to return to that world in a way that I feel is healthy for my mental state.

I am currently planning on returning to that world sometime in 2026, but the first book of The Fortuned Ones is likely to be released in 2027 as I navigate other projects, including the development and writing of my MFA thesis novel.

I want to promise one thing for certain: I will return to that world to complete that shared universe's story, especially since The Red Wolf Saga ends on such a hard cliffhanger. It won't be anytime soon, but that series will see the light of day.
