Looking forward (for the foreseeable future)

Hi everyone,

I have always aimed to be transparent with you all, and for that reason, I thought I'd make a post to share a few things that are going to be changing for the foreseeable future.

The last few years have been incredibly hard on me. Between the traumatic events of the Rio Grande Valley flooding, my sudden move back to Idaho, and navigating a changing literary landscape, things have changed a lot for me, and I've been experiencing the side effects of that, especially financially.

However, I am not writing this message to complain about my circumstances. In my ways, I am better off than a lot of people are, and I am incredibly thankful for that. However, in order to financially recover, I am having to recalibrate how I am doing some business-related things.

To begin: I will ultimately have to reduce my business-related expenditures, which means that new books that are produced by me are likely to slow down. I still have plans to release one more new book (the first in my epic fantasy series) and arrange for one last audiobook's rights to be released to me (so I can upload it to YouTube), but after that, you're going to see things slow down. You'll still see Arkady's Suffering come out in September, however.

I will also have to cancel my Bookfunnel subscription for the time being, which means that free copies of What We Left Behind won't be advertised as newsletter subscription rewards for the foreseeable future. However, I have specifically made this book not contractually bound to Amazon exclusivity, so if you want a copy for free, you can grab it via my Ko-Fi store.

With that said: I do still want to produce content for y'all, so I am going to try to produce more short fiction that you can read on my Other Worlds short fiction blog. I have a few shorts that I have been working on that may not be suitable to submit for publication due to word count/etc., so I'll strive to share those with you when they become available.

As some have expressed interest in how they can help me during this time, you can do so in the following ways:

1. By purchasing or reading my work on Kindle Unlimited. This is perhaps the most economical way for (most) people, and page reads will add up after a while, and I get paid per page read.

2. By giving a Ko-Fi donation for my short fiction collections or for my When They Came novel. This is another way to offer support in an amount that you choose that doesn't have a strict monetary requirement (such as your Kindle Unlimited subscription).

3. Streaming my audiobooks on YouTube. This is a cost-free way to support me as I work to gain monetization through watch hours, and each hour watched truly does help.
